Where to stay

First things first, because we get asked a lot, the only option that makes walking work is camping at the fairgrounds.

Camping:

• At the fairgrounds: The fairboard runs this whole operation and can be reached at: http://www.mvfair.com/

Hotels/Motels:

• The Chief Blackhawk Chapter in cooperation with the Bettendorf Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites has arranged for a special rate for folks who wish to avail themselves of hotel accommodations. In addition the Bettendorf Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites has committed to a complimentary shuttle service between the hotel and the fairgrounds between the hours of 7:00am and 10:45pm. Please be aware the first priority of the hotel shuttle service is taking care of the needs of guests with airport connections.
  
  To receive the special rate call the Bettendorf Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites directly at 563-355-4761, ask for "IN-HOUSE RESERVATIONS", and let them know you are coming in for the "Antique Motorcycle Swap Meet".

  NOTE: It is critical that you speak with IN-HOUSE RESERVATIONS, central reservations has no information on arrangements made by the local Holiday Inn.

  Special room rates are in effect from 27 August through 31 August as follows:

  Standard King - $75.00

  Two DB Stnd - $75.00

  Exec. King(NS) - $85.00

  Junior Exec. King(NS) - $98.00

  ALL ROOM RATES ARE SUBJECT TO LOCAL SALES TAX AND OCCUPANCY TAXES.

  Rooms with microwaves and refrigerators are available for an additional charge.

  The above rates are only available if booked prior to 13 August, 2008.
  
  Reservations may be made online at Bettendorf Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites, using a Group Booking Code of "PENDING".
  
  Each night we have 10 or more rooms at the Hotel a Complimentary Shuttle Service to and from the Fairgrounds from 7:00am-10:45pm will be available.
  
  The hotel has a complimentary airport shuttle and is centrally located with shopping, 24 Hour Grocery Store, and restaurants directly across the street from the hotel.

• Because we all live here we don't have much knowledge of the local accommodations, so no recommendations from this quarter. The area is very small compared to most folks idea of a city, so getting around is not really a problem. Nothing in the area is more than 20 minutes away.
