Where to stay

First things first, because we get asked a lot, the only option that makes walking work is camping at the fairgrounds.

Camping:

• At the fairgrounds: The fairboard runs this whole operation and can be reached at: http://www.mvfair.com/

Hotels/Motels:

• The Chief Blackhawk Chapter in cooperation with the Bettendorf Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites has arranged for a special rate for folks who wish to avail themselves of hotel accommodations. In addition the Bettendorf Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites has committed to a complimentary shuttle service between the hotel and the fairgrounds between the hours of 7:00am and 10:45pm. Please be aware the first priority of the hotel shuttle service is taking care of the needs of guests with airport connections.
  
  Below are the directions for making an online reservation on the Antique Motorcycle Club of America Chief Blackhawk Chapter Group Block.
  
  1) Go to the website: www.holidayinn.com/bettendorfia
  2) On the left hand side of the site/page click on where it says "check availability"
  3) Enter the Dates, Number of Rooms, Adults, and Children, Select any Room Type Preferences
  4) Enter the Group Booking Code: AMS
  5) Click on the "check availability" button
  6) Select a Room Type and Click Reserve
  
  OR you can call 1 800 Holiday and give them your group booking code of AMS. If you would like to make your reservation at the hotel directly, you can call us at 563-355-4761 and ask for group or in-house reservations.
  Reservations must be made by 8/19/10 to guarantee the discounted rate.

  Special room rates are in effect from 2 September through 6 September as follows:

  Stnd King- $79.00

  Two DB Stnd - $79.00

  Exec. King(NS) - $89.00

  Junior Exec. King(NS) - $102.00

  ALL ROOM RATES ARE SUBJECT TO LOCAL SALES TAX AND OCCUPANCY TAXES.

  Rooms with microwaves and refrigerators are available for an additional charge.

  The above rates are only available if booked prior to 19 August, 2010.
  
  Reservations may be made online at Bettendorf Holiday Inn Hotel & Suites, using a Group Booking Code of "AMS".
  
  Each night we have 10 or more rooms at the Hotel a Complimentary Shuttle Service to and from the Fairgrounds from 7:00am-10:45pm will be available.
  
  The hotel has a complimentary airport shuttle and is centrally located with shopping, 24 Hour Grocery Store, and restaurants directly across the street from the hotel.

• Because we all live here we don't have much knowledge of the local accommodations, so no recommendations from this quarter. The area is very small compared to most folks idea of a city, so getting around is not really a problem. Nothing in the area is more than 20 minutes away.
